In fact, a few weeks ago, we upgraded our Reveal.js functionality within HackMD. So today, we’re spotlighting a powerful tool that you have access to thanks to Reveal.js: Slide Mode.
What is Slide Mode?
First things first, Slide Mode is a seamless intergration within your HackMD Workspace that allows you to make slides directly from your notes.
With Slide Mode, you can create, present, and collaborate in-real time, sharing important information in a professional and sleek setting.
All it takes is three lines of code to create and separate your slides (shown below - it really is just three dashes sandwiches between two blank lines).

And with that, you can toggle Slide Mode on from the Share button on the top right of your editor. For more info, you can dive into the Slide Mode tutorial here.
Our recent updates added new functionality to Slide Mode, including gradient backgrounds, scroll view, and the ability to jump to specific slides within your deck.

Slide Mode is only made possible with the help of Reveal.js. But what is it exactly?

No need to waste time fumbling to get presentation mode started. No awkward silences or vamping. Simply click into the Share button at the top right of the screen, change the view mode to Slide Mode, then copy and share the link. Anyone accessing the note through the link will see the presentation ready to slide.
You can also hit review and proofread (read: admire ✨) your new presentation in the newly opened tab before sharing that link directly with others. They won’t see the editor, your notes, or worry about how to get the presentation mode started. Everyone can dive right in.
